Rodeo, an EIAS Plugin

Hello EIAS user. This is a preliminary documentation for Rodeo, a new plugin for the Electric Image Animation System. It introduces rigid body dynamics to the EIAS Animator. It calculates physical parameters for each object within its control and also their physical interaction. You can see what users do with it here.

WARNING!

This is beta software. By installing the software you agree to use the software at your own risk. ramjac Software will not be responsible for any harm that may result from the use of this software!

Minimum System Requirements:

Mac/Windows, EIAS5.5 (with some restrictions), EIAS 6.0 (almost fully supported), EIAS 6.5 (fully supported)

Restrictions with EIAS 5.5:

There is no automatic update of the object list, please double click "World" to update the list. The EIAS hierarchy link data cannot be accessed, thus it is impossible to import this link data into Rodeo. Especially when the pivot is moved in the Animator link-dialog, Rodeo gives unpredictable results. It is possible to drop some objects onto each other with Rodeo though.

Restrictions with EIAS 6.0.1:

When importing the Animator link-dialog, the link type (Free, Socket, etc) is lost for effectors and bones, and it is replaced with "Free" linkage. Meaning, setups will fall apart, although the effectors are linked in Animator via "Socket" link or similar.
Restrictions for non-registered beta testers: All non-registered users can simulate at most two physics controlled objects. The number of user animated objects and joints/links is not limited.

The redistribution of the beta plugin Rodeo is allowed and explicitly desired by the authors.
